respotted black: So, if some people are ready to discuss in english..:) here we go...ISnooker is not well-known in germany yet...But its going to get better..:) Cos the last season there were all main tour events on TV , yeah ! I think, this year too..Unfortunatly, there are not many snooker club in here..:( I mean in really big cities like Cologne or Berlin of course, but in the little ones...:( I am from Bonn actually and I wanted to join a snooker club in Cologne, but...In fact, it is quite expensive ( up to 60-70 ? / month), but this is not the real problem..The real problem is thet the club did not had any vacaciones, so you got to wait really long to join it. So, as you see, it is not really great here in Germany according to snooker..:( but we got somme good players in here.Two of them ( Lasse Münstermann and Patick Einsle) , who are many-times German champion, are now in England , at the Snooker academy in Rushdun.There are some great snooker player like Pet Ebdon, James Wattana, Ken Doherty and many of Chinise diamonds including "the incredible" Ding Junhui.....

samsemilia: Hello_o Snooker is very popular in Germany. We have many snooker-clubs and tables in amusement arcades and a lot billard tables in pubs. But in East-Germany its very rare with snooker especially I see it, because I want to become Referee. Its not easy in "Snooker-Sahara" East-Germany. At the beginning of october we have a big tournament "the german open" and players like Matty Stevens , Jimmy White, Ian McCullock... will play their. I´m so upset... I hope we have in a few years a main tour tournament in Germany. That would be very great. On TV we can watch S. on channel ´Eurosport` and sometimes on ´DSF` (broadcasts the Premier League). My most favourite Player is Ronnie O`Sullivan. But I also like Jimmy White, Matty Stevens, Paul Hunter and Stephen Hendry. I got Snookerfreak one and a half years ago. I´ve seen it on telly and became an addict I hope I could answer all your questions for first... PS: special thx to Riba Regards, Sammy

You'll have the German Open held soon and will have the opportunity to see the guys play LIVE!! And most of us only watch snooker on TV and have nowhere to play this game... In Saint-Petersburg (where i live) we have just a few billiard clubs, where snooker tables are placed. And it's quite expensive to play there, that's why personally i don't play much...

Rike: hello boys and girls wow! so many entries within only one day sammy and respotted black have already told you about the situation of snooker in germany... think it's a pity that opportunities to play snooker are so rare but i believe snooker is at the beginning to become popular here and in future there will be more events *hope so* @JaneDoe: you're a ref, aren't you? great! @bdb: i'm a snooker-addicted just since china open 2005. i watch the game since two years occasionally, but since april i never missed a transmission it all began with ronnie.... and my favourites are matt ronnie, paul, steve davis, jimmy white and i'm so glad that i can go to the german open and see some of them playing @riba: thanks for helping me cu tomorrow Rike
